Service to community is a very important and vital part of the New Hampton and Nashua Tae Kwon Do branches. Here are some of our regular service projects that take place throughout the year. Check back often for updates and do not hesitate to contact Master Bendickson if you are interested in donating your services (both time and financial are welcome).
Pilsung a term used in Tae Kwon Do (Certain Victory).
The New Hampton and Nashua Jung's Tae Kwon Do Academy truly strive to do their very best and gain their own Victory. They really showed us they could win their own victory on August 23, 2008, the Jung's Tae Kwon Do Academy had a tournament and a break-a-thon to raise money for Chickasaw Community Action all in the same day!
New Hampton and Nashua Jung's Tae Kwon Do students competed at the 4th Annual Tae Kwon Do Tournament in New Hampton. Students competed according to age and belt ranking in the areas of Forms, Board Breaking, and Free Sparring. Sportsmanship and respect for officials, parents and opponents is required of all competitors.

Kahm Say Hahm Nee Dah(THANK YOU!) Community Service and respect for others is a requirement of all Tae Kwon Do students. As part of this requirement, 4 years ago the New Hampton Branch
Over 76 competitors attended the tournament and break-a-thon
began a Break-a-thon fundraiser with the money going to Chickasaw County Community Action. Together we are able to assist our friends and neighbors in Chickasaw County who need some extra help. In 2006 we raised over $3000, in 2007 we raised $2500.00 and this year thanks to community support, Chickasaw County Community Action was presented cash gifts totaling over
$3600.00. With fuel continuing to rise, heating and transportation cost the additional funds this year were desperately needed, and deeply appreciated.

Community Action
Congratulations to ALL of the Tae Kwon Do students who worked so hard collecting donations by going door to door , working for their families, having lemonade stands or bake sales your totals for raising money were above and beyond! Congratulations to all the board holders and the board breakers, we broke 600 boards in 20 minutes!

The donations collected from all the community and businesses are so greatly appreciated! Your donations will truly come in handy for those who need extra help this year! Without the help of the businesses and individuals that donated money, materials and time that made this project possible, the group would not have been as successful in their quest to raise money for Chickasaw County Community Action. The donations are presented to a Chickasaw County Community Action representative at the New Hampton TKD Tournament. This is the 4th year of our fundraising for Community Action.
Last year 2007, Master Stacey Bendickson and the New Hampton branch of Jung's Tae Kwon Do raised over $2400 for the Chickasaw County Crisis Fund administered by the Chickasaw County Community Action Office.
The money pledged and donated for the Tae Kwon Do "Break-A-Thon" & Tournament was used in assisting many households in Chickasaw County. Families were assisted that were in crisis with utility disconnections, emergenxy LP fills, gas to medical appointments, to prevent evictions, diapers, elder assistance, and other emergencies.
Because of your generous support and the hard work of Master Stacey Bendickson and the members of the Tae Kwon Do club many Chickasaw County families were able to make it past their crisis.
With your generous donations, Community Action will be able to help families in crisis again this year.

The New Hampton Dojang raised $100.00 for Sandy Shekelton's team to support the research necessary to help children like her grandson, Jack (pictured below). Sandy is an active member of the New Hampton Dojang.
Follow This Link to visit her personal web page and help in her efforts to support American Heart Association - IA Northeast Division.
The donations raised by her team will go towards the American Heart Association's Legacy of Life endowment fund dedicated to research of congenital heart defects-- the most common birth defect and the leading cause of birth-defect related deaths. Please make a donation so we can help support research for children like her grandson, Jack, who was born with only half a heart. Thank you for your support!
